In 2001 Bob Long & Randy Wilcox visualized the opportunity to create a unique living experience in Columbus, Ohio. Through their expertise in development Long & Wilcox was founded and they introduced the first mid-rise residential development to the area. Since then they have grown to become the premier mid-rise developer of Columbus.
They began with East Bank Condominiums, a 4-story condominium project that overlooks the Scioto River in Dublin. In Downtown Columbus they conceived the first local conversion of a turn-of-the-century office building into luxury residences called The Brunson. The project includes a twelve story glass and steel addition to the original masonry building, something that has never before been done in this city. In order to provide for the residents of The Brunson a parking garage was built behind the building...Long & Wilcox took the innovation one step further by adding a new project atop the garage called Lafayette Lofts that features 12 loft-style condominiums. As these projects progressed so did plans to build their two newest communities. Due to the success of East Bank I, construction began on East Bank II which currently features 28 luxury condominiums ranging in size from 1,290 sq. ft. to over 3,100. Arlington Crossing, a 5-story mid rise development centrally located in Upper Arlington across from the newly developed Kingsdale Town Center, has 56 upscale condominiums ranging from 1,530 sq. ft. up to over 2,500.
Pioneering into the mid-rise condominium market has allowed Long & Wilcox to provide residents carefree living with a true sense of community. For this they were honored as the 2005 Building Industry Association’s (BIA) Developer of the Year.
